Hammock Privileges (sick in 46)
08 September 2003 (Venezuela) by Ben Glass
During our stay at San Flaviano I was knocked off my feet by a mystery illness. Subsequently I was ruled out of a big test match on the oval and restricted to rest. Daniel, Dawn and Dexter offered up their hammock on the verandah and I drifted off into the blissful abyss.
During my recovery an unfortunate photo portrayed me as the lazy boss in the hammock overlooking the workers slaving away in the plantation. It's not true I tells ya!
The young lads in the village were interested in a few of the tools in our kit eg solar panels, our Katadyn water filter, camp stove etc. Their interest was such that they took to filtering the water for us, and with Kendon on the prowl with the camera we have this incriminating photo as a result.
You do believe me don't you?
Good, now get back to work!
